Exagon Impact Capital, LLC (“XIC”) a private equity investment manager focused on sustainable middle market renewable power and infrastructure investments in Latin America and the Caribbean, announced today the appointment of Gustavo Diniz Junqueira as the newest member of its Advisory Board.
Mr. Junqueira brings an impressive track record with proven leadership experience, having executed private and public initiatives both in his home market of Brazil as well as abroad. Most recently, Mr. Junqueira served as Chief Executive Officer of InvestSP, the economic development agency of the state of São Paulo in Brazil, where he led the strategic expansion of the agency overseas by opening offices in New York, Shanghai, Munich and Dubai and designed a new and unique investment promotion policy based on an ESG framework. Prior to InvestSP, Mr. Junqueira served as the Secretary of Agriculture for the state of São Paulo, playing a significant role in shaping the policies and economic development of the state which represents the third largest economy by GDP in Latin America, surpassed only by the GDP of Brazil itself and Mexico.
Before his career in public service, Mr. Junqueira held numerous positions and directorships in the private sector including among others, Chairman of the Board of Directors of NITA Alimentos (Brazilian Food & Beverage Manufacturer), Director on the Boards of RUMO (Latin America’s largest railway company) and PINE Bank (Brazilian commercial and investment bank). Mr. Junqueira previously served as a Managing Partner at the leading Brazilian investment advisory firm, Brasilpar, and as a Member of the Board of Directors and Chief Financial Officer of EZTEC, a leading construction and real estate development company. Earlier in his career, Mr. Junqueira developed significant experience participating in power and infrastructure investments across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and Latin America as part of Enron’s Mergers & Acquisitions team. Mr. Junqueira holds a Bachelor’s degree from FAAP – Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado and a MBA from The Thunderbird School of Global Management.
